Phoenix Logo
I was tasked with creating a logo for a company that included a phoenix. It could be as literal or inferred as we wanted. I took a more sleek and minimalistic approach. The entire logo had to be black and white.
Project & Company Details
Phoenix Energy is a fictional energy drink company that I created around this logo. They are a more minimalistic brand hence the simplicity of this logo.
The Ask
I had to create an entirely black and white logo that had to include a phoenix in some form.
The Approach
Since we were given creative freedom, I decided to abstract the phoenix into its two forms: fire and bird. The phoenix is known for its rebirth from the ashes, so I had an idea to include a gestalt bird head within flames.
Process
The image above is the digitalized process of this project. After initial sketches I decided this concept was most effective. I hand drew this logo, and then recreated it in Adobe Illustrator. After experimenting with brand name and tagline placement, I decided it would fit best curved arouynd the base of the logo, mimicking a goblet containing the fire.
The logo itself went through several phases of refinement. you can see in the early versions of the logo the base was slightly skewed, making it very difficult to have spacing when placing the curved text underneath. I altered them logo to have a perfectly rounded base, so that the text would lay perfectly underneath, “holding” the phoenix.
