Project #1
The first half of the video consists of clips of the same object shot from different focal lengths. The second half of the video consists of several extreme close up shots and a final long shot revealing what the object is.
Role & Reflection
I did the shooting for my project and all of the editing. I shared some footage with Olivia and DeQuay. This project taught me the importance of proper focus. There were a few shots that were slightly out of focus and I didn’t realize until I was editing. I also learned that it is important to change angles to keep the shots interesting and avoid them becoming repetitive. I think the best thing about this project is the close up on the moving bush. It is probably the most engaging shot throughout the whole video. I also loved the detail that came through in extreme close up shots when they were in focus, it shows how effective an extreme close up can be. I would pay more attention to the details of shooting, color and light can be adjusted in post but and out of focus shot will always look bad.
